Marc Jacobs – SS17

A real classic the velvet suit, here a classic single breasted version paired with a simple tee just can’t be beat. The other outfit is all about that checker board design. I love the red and purple and then the contrasts of the black and white works really well, to add that element of fun you have those rainbow belt and braces.

What an amazing jacket, that patch work is beautiful and looks effortlessly put together. Wonderful light wash denim and then those stunning Cuban heeled shoes. Such a cool look.

Pyjamas and why not, the ultimate in relaxed sophistication. I love the simple polka dot but done in 2 different colours and then that long line single breasted blazer. What completes the outfit is that shear scarf worn simple thrown over one shoulder.

Bring a little glamour to your sportswear. I love the sparkle from those palm trees. Grey marl being a personal favourite of mine.

Shall we start off with the tuxedo, classic with the satin lapels and I love that wide satin strip down the leg. The tailoring is soft and relaxed which is why the tee works perfectly. I have a love for cardigans and these 2 are gorgeous with those rainbow coloured ribs.

Gorgeous animal print shirt, love those ruffles, metallic and shiny. Simple black trousers with a straight leg and then those shoes, made for dancing….. love it.

The role neck and the suit and what a suit. Big big lapels, those sharpe shoulders and then those flares. The second suit has that wonderful detail of piping around the edges which is such a great look. The bottoms have an elasticated hem and give it that sports luxe flavour.

More of those animal prints, great colouring, love that pink mixed with those gold track bottoms, very cool.

MTV, now this is one of my favourite pieces being in the first generation of MTV viewers such a classic logo. Acid wash sweatshirt in that lush purple, perfectly matched with those pink bottoms.

Ultra flares if you think you can handle them, note the drawstring detail to the fastening. It’s the satin bombers that are the real heros in these outfits.love the piping detail to the sleeves and of course the ribs look fantastic with those stripes.

Sparkle shine with that amazing tuxedo blazer, the black contrast to the lapels add that little bit of drama that you need to an outfit like this. Animal print shirt to carry on the glamour, simple black jeans. Personally I love a good man bag and this clutch version works really well with this outfit.

Marc Jacobs SS17 – a collection of pure glamour, sophistication mixed with this seasons sports luxe theme. Effortlessly cool. The 70’s revived but nothing looks dated of out of place. The satin bombers have great detail like the piping, the velvet suit is keep simple so the fabric does the work and then that wonderfully patch work suede jacket which is simple stunning. This is a fantastic collection and worth a closer look.

MSGM – SS17

Summer knitwear which is a must in all wardrobes. This half and half three quarter sleeve jumper is very cool. Classic cable knit at the bottom and then clean stripe jumper on top. The varied stripes are lovely and that gorgoues orangy red is such a great colour. Oversize in structure and so is that shirt underneath, love the styling with the hem hanging out from underneath the jumper.

Lovely fine knit with those gorgeous stripes matched at the armhole to give it those clean lines. I love that green colour, very vibrant. Simple slim leg jeans with a well worn wash.

Let’s start off with a classic black denim western style jacket, a version of which should be in every mans wardrobe, styled with the cuffs turned up. Put together with that lovely striped rollneck. The bottoms have a marble print, baggy and with a elasticed hem.

Very 60’s in its influence not only in the shape but also the colours with that beautiful orange and yellow. The tee wouldn’t look out of place on the back of a rider during the Tour de France. Those jeans have a wonderful cut, slim around the thighs and then just that little kick of flare to the hem.

Loving this sport luxe look of this season. Again another tee that reminds me so much of those old time cycling tees, very cool. Love the colour blocking. Matched with simple black jeans, effortlessly cool.

A lightweight raincoat, gorgeous orange colouring and I love the zip detail. Interesting styled with the sleeves pulled right up to show off the printed long sleeve tee underneath. Both tee and jacket styled tucked into those bottoms.

Ahh the acid wash jeans, would you dare… I like the way these jeans have been styled with a great peice of knitwear in that lovely cornflower blue and that stripe shirt. I like that contrast, very cool.

How gorgeous is that acid wash denim jacket, the wash gives it a wonderful textured look. Multi stripe tee and then those nylon shorts. Sports luxe at its best.

A rework of the classic Argyll jumper. Very dramatic and seen through the eyes of Dali. I really like the cut of this jumper very slimline and close to the body and that slightly wider neck really compliments having those collars from the shirt.
MSGM SS17 – A wonderfully eclectic collection, incredible use of colour, vibrant reds, yellows and oranges mixed with simple base colours of black, blue and grey. I especially love the vintage cycling tees in simple colour blocks put together with those kick flared jeans that I like in my own wardrobe. Other standouts are the acid wash jeans and denim jacket and also the reworked Argyll jumper that has a slight Salvador Dali feel to it. A very beautiful collection.

Etro- SS17

Kimonos are becoming ever more popular these days and this is a wonderful reworking of that style used within a shirt. The suit is beautifully relaxed in its shape and I just love that waffle texture. Simply stunning.

More of that kimono look, with that oversize shirt jacket. Love the open neck V tee layered underneath. Styled with the tuck in.

Double breasted blazers are seldom styled in such a relaxed way normally that’s the reserve of the single breasted blazer. That being said this is a wonderful example of how cool you can look when you try something new. Love that deep V neck tee.

Beautiful twist front draped jacket, simply stunning. Deep V neck tee and what a gorgeous print on those loose cut trousers. The whole tonal burnt red colouring is fantastic.

This time a little more tailored doubke breasted blazer, wonderfully styled with the sleeves rolled up to show off that lining. Pattern on pattern with the shirt and trousers. Beautiful blue tonal colouring.

Let’s step up with our kimono game with this denim version. I love the bleached out floral stencil pattern. The self fabric belt really completes the look and again styled with the cuffs turned up. Lovely drape trousers and styled with the turn up, gorgeous look.

Sports luxe a theme that’s really taken off this season. Lovely printed tracksuit, love the turn ups on the bottoms and those wonderful double stripe ribs. The Mac has a wonderful texture to it which I just love, note the sleeves of the Mac have been pulled up so that the tracksuit sleeves can be featured.

Texture is the word for this collection. Just look at those trousers, beautiful mono colouring, flat front, straight leg and cropped. I love the dots on the texture of that single breasted blazer, again turn those sleeves up and show off the lining.

The grandad collar shirt, shown in my shows this season. Lovely styling with the stripes horizontal on the shirt and vertical on the blazer. Love those drape trousers with the turn ups. Great look.

I love this whole look, that longline cardigan is gorgeous. Simple white tee is a classic. Wonderful stripe trousers with the lace up detail.

One of my favourite pieces of clothing, the shirt jacket. This one in that deep blue denim with what looks like a raw edge finish to add that little bit of highlight to the edges of those pockets and the epaulettes.

A lovely reworking of the polo shirt. I love the stripes contrasted with the floral trouser. Such a gorgeous look.

Interesting jodhpur style trousers, note the lace up bottoms. A gorgeous printed shirt, love that ethnic print.
Etro SS17 – This is a collection very much based on the visual and creating intrigue. The stripes are horizontal on a shirt and then vertical on the jacket. Textured is used throughout to give the fabric another dimension to it. All the Blazers have there sleeves rolled up to show off there colourful long as do the trousers. A hint of sports luxe, the lace up hem on some of the trousers are a lovely detail. I absolutely love the kimonos used as both a overcoat as well as a shirt. Such wonderful styling. The colours and the print are gorgeous and as you would expect from Etro collection. Simply stunning.

Calvin Klein – SS17

Another of this seasons themes, the double jacket and also tone on tone. I love the styling of a simple tee underneath those two jackets. Single breasted blazer and the overcoat are well tailored and have a fantastic cut. Nlte the tone on tone buttons.

Stunning double breasted blazer, as before with the tonal buttons and styled with a simple tee. Loving this look.

Such a beautiful satin baseball jacket. I love the press stud fastenings in the contrasted black, I love the contrasted slits on the pockets, the stripe down the sleeves and last of all the double stripe ribs. This is a stunning jacket.

I love the styling on this outfit. The western jacket in satin and then that lunch baseball jacket underneath showing those contrast press studs. Loving this look.

This outfit is styled so well, the layering is wonderful. Simple white tee, then that gorgeous orange single breasted blazer finished with that black overcoat. Love it.

Such a fantastic reworking of the American football shirt. Cropped length, great use of the mesh but it’s the soft leather yoke and sleeves that take this to the next level. Simply stunning.

More of the sport luxe styling. Another reworking of a football shirt but this time done in knitwear. The stripes are bold and I love the contrasted colour on the V neck and the panels on the shoulders.

I like the crop length on this knitwear. The stripes on the shoulder are really cool and the stripes on the cuffs finish off the style really well.

Calvin Klein SS17 – Classic Americana styling, based in the sports luxe theme. Very simple colour palette the rich cream contrasted to the jet black and then the pop of the orange on that single breasted blazer is really cool. I like the fabrics used like the satin for the western jacket. I love knitwear which has been reworked into simple sport jerseys. The standout is the wonderful satin baseball jacket which is on my wish list.

Marni – SS17

Really interesting one button single breasted suit. I like the that the button is high on the chest and I also like the rounded edges of the blazer too. Those trouser are wide and crop and they have a lovely flow about them. The leather is oversized, just look at those collars and how the models hands are hidden away by those sleeves.

The leather shorts, seen in many of this seasons shows. Again it’s all about the scale and oversize is the choice. I love the colour that deep khaki is gorgeous. The jumper is lovely, let’s look at the cut. The shoulders and chest are oversized, the raglan sleeve just adds to the effect, the waist is narrow and the contrast that gives is lovely.

More of the delicious khaki leather, this time in a classic 3 button single breasted blazer. The cut is slightly oversized but not too out of proportion. The trouser as before wide and cropped.

Can oversize be too much, I don’t think so. These shorts are a case in point, hugely oversized but the drape and the cut make the whole style work. The hoodie is also oversized but not excessively, the print is fantastic and it’s styled with the tuck in.

I love knitwear and this is a great peice. I love that burnt orange colour and the short sleeves which I’d like to see more of on the high street. The trouser are a wonderful drape and flow about them. The jumper styled tucked in to the trouser which is a theme running throughout the SS17 shows.

More of those oversize shorts, matched with a lovely candy striped shirt. Effortlessly stylish.

I haven’t yet mentioned the free hanging waistband on the trouser and shorts in this collection. It’s in interesting concept on the design of the trousers, I like the little slice of colour from the shirt showing through it adds a lovely break to the colours. The shirt is has a fantastic mix of relaxed cutting from those big wide sleeves and the cuffs turned up contrasted with those sharpe collars and fly front to hide the buttons. Just gorgeous.

Marni SS17 – This collection is all about scale and proportion, oversized is also contrasted within the same peice. I love those drape trousers with the free hanging waistband and also those oversize shorts. The leather has a sensual quality to it and wonderful colouring. Simple candy stripes which I’ve seen in other shows as well. I like the ease and simplicity of this collection, fantastic work.

Marcelo Burlon – SS17

The kimono, such an effortlessly stylish and easy to where. I love those big wide sleeves and the contrast lining just showing through. Pure Rock’n’Roll.

The sleeveless tee. This has a classic cut with those extended shoulders and the fabric has structure and holds it self well. The bottoms in are classic shell suit track bottoms.

Classic sportware layered look. You have those running tights and then those oversize shorts. Simple printed sweatshirt on top.

Print on print on print…a real classic snake print keeping it simple can be so effect just red and black. Oversize shorts, the short is grandad collar and also has a fly front to hide the buttons. Lovely utility jacket with those lovely patch pockets.

I love this short kimono so cool, if you have the legs then show them with those amazing running tights. Fantastic print.

Let’s start off with those oversize shorts. Simple colouring again, black with the red print, drawstring fastening. Perfectly matched with the three quarter length sleeve sweatshirt and of course the continuation of the print.

Taking the bomber jacket one step further by using that wonderful cord to add that lattice work to the outfit. The same detail to the bottoms. Gorgeous all red.

This is how you rework a hoodie, firstly you have that wonderful zip up high neck and then the hood itself is attached around the neck and has the most wonderful draped shape to it. I love that kimono style jacket with those amazing wide sleeves. The simple black shorts are styled well for this outfit.

A real statement peice with the use of then 3D print which us just gorgeous. Simple shorts and tracksuit top.

A wonderful MA-1 bomber jacket, the patches are still going to be on trend throughout the new season. I like the way all the patches are one uniform colour, very cool. Animal and camo print tracksuit bottoms add to the whole look.

I love this look, the leather oversize shorts are being shown at many shows this season. I really like the hoodie especially the longline length. Fantastic look.

Marcelo Burlon SS17 – A truely masculine collection. Sports luxe at its very best. I really love the Kimonos they are really stylish. Reworking of the classic MA-1 Bomber jackets are really well designed. The leather works really well with the whole look. The prints take this collection up,to,the next level, not just the 3D placement prints but the all over prints which have been kept simple using only red and black. This whole collection shouts of MAN in a way many collections this season don’t do.

Massimo Piombo -SS17

The Kurta style Indian shirt with a classic grandad collar in that wonderful turmeric orange is gorgeous. I would have loved to have seen more of that embroidered waistcoat again a renal classic look in Indian style. The navy blue is a simple and easy choice to match to compliment this outfit.

Another Kurta style shirt and waistcoat but this time with the full trouser in the most vibrant turquoise blue. This time paired with a classic double breasted blazer, styled with the buttons undone as to not lose out on the embroidery on the waistcoat.

The Kurta shirt this time done using a very rustic cotton in that bold candy stripe. Again the embroidery is delicate and well placed, it doesn’t unbalance the outfit. The double breasted tuxedo blazer gives a contrast to the relaxed nature of this outfit because of the satin collars and sharpe cut. Which if you think about it is the same with wearing jeans with a blazer, in essence it’s the same concept.

By far my favourite Kurta shirt as I like the denim chambray fabric and the stripes on the blazer match it well. Again the embroidery is finely balanced as with all in this collection.

The shirts are now cut down to the standard length and nothing is really lost in the impact of the outfit. The stripe on this shirt is lovely, simple and clean. The embroidery frames the placket of the shirt well. I also like the styling with the cuff of the shirt protruding out from the sleeves-for the jacket.

Really wonderful colouring to this outfit. I love that candy stripe on the blazer and then that earthy red that so deep and rich. The star being that waistcoat which is shamefully hidden away but then that only builds intrigue. Gorgeous outfit.

Massimo Piombo SS17 – There is no denying the Indian influence of this collection, not only in the design of the outfits and embroidery but also with the colours that are so rich and vibrant. In the earthy tones have a deepness about them. This is a wonderful collection that is young and has a sort of next generation feel about it the classic tailoring and cut has this old world feel to it. A very beautiful collection and worth spending your time over.

Kiton – SS17

Beautiful cloth, that check is amazing and gorgeous colours, I love that blue and the vibrant pink. A wonderful double breasted waistcoat with the lapels really sets the tone for this suit. The cut is sharpe and the tailoring is immaculate. Just a hint of casualness coming from that turned up trouser.

Another three peice suit this time the check is small and full of colour, which in turn gives the suit a wonderful texture about it. Same sharpe tailoring and relaxed styling with the turn up.

A wonderful six button double breasted suit. Very sharpe tailoring and I love the narrowness of the jacket. The trouser as before have those wide turn ups.

Seldom do you find a double breasted tuxedo and this one is really beautiful. I love the shawl collars on the jacket. I love this suit and it’s the kind of suit I would love in my wardrobe.

The key to this outfit is the layering. The simple mid coloured jeans, I love the turn ups. A classic shirt and open tie, the jumper tied around the waist, then the blazer with that wonderful check and to finish an overcoat. The colouring is kept to a minimum of colours. This sort of outfit really tells a story about whoever wears it.

This outfit has an effortless casual chic about it. I love that grey blazer and style with the lapels turned up and the sleeves pulled up.A wonderful orange patterned shirt which work so well with the grey and white.

Denim on denim, a classic western.jacket, really wonderful wash which adds a real rich colouring. I really love those floral denim type bottoms with the drawstring fastening. My favourite peice in the whole outfit is that summer scarf, just adds that little extra the whole look.

Another beautiful casual look. That colour blocked jersey and leather mixed jacket is beautiful, I especially like the red pullers to the zip. Simple worned thigh black jeans. Such a wonderful outfit.

Kiton SS17 – This collection is wonderfully wearable. The suits are sharpe and extremely well tailored and immaculate in its styling. The mostwonderful check cloth. The casual outfits are amazing, I love the jersey and leather mix jacket but then I also love the casual grey blazer.

Inspiration to Aspiration – FASHION tilted

I started buying Vogue and Elle magazine when I was 15 years old. Born into a family of tailors fashion magazines where always around in our offices and I loved going through them. Twice a year and the most exciting of editions from Vogue and Elle would be released these were the ones which had supplements attached. The fashion shows, Spring / Summer and Autumn / Winter. I longed for these supplements, we had no internet at that time, we had to be patient, we had to learn to wait and when they arrived we took our time looking at every picture in detail and trying to understand the shape of a dress or a top, the use of a certain colour and the way outfits where put together. These shows were my inspiration and they gave me the confidence to explore my own ideas of not only what clothes I wanted to wear but also how I wanted to wear them. I went through many different looks which also expressed how I was feeling at any given moment. Maybe I’m looking back with rose tinted spectacles but I wear them well and trust me the outfit is killer….

Fast forward to 2016… So where are we now with fashion, what is it that the shows bring? What do they signify?

First off before a single outfit has even hit the catwalk the question to be asked is who is in the front row… Beyoncé? Rihanna? The Kardashians? The A listers, the B listers, the C’s, the D’s and the hangerons…. But what about the show and the outfits? Isn’t that why we are here. Well sort of yes but to bring the glamour to proceedings the killer front row is a MUST… The glamour has shifted and the presents of celeb royalty takes centre place.

Ok I think I’m being a little simplistic but you can’t argue that aspirational fashion is where society is moving towards. Fashion was about inspiration, it was about exploration. To be fashionable is now more important then ever but How do you become fashionable? How do you follow trend? If you are Mr or Mrs average then where do you go for the least amount of effort? Well you go to celebrities, you find the one you identify with most and then you copy them. You learn from them, what they wear and how they wear their clothes. You aspire to be like them and that’s how this shift has come about. It’s been gradual but it has been steady and we are at a point where the shows are less about the design and more about which outfit any given celeb will be wearing from any given show… Please don’t get me wrong I’m actually not snobbish about this shift, I’m not yearning for a bygone era. I recognise and have identified this shift and it’s such an interesting move within the industry. It’s grown sales in high fashion stores and online stores immensely, it’s no wonder that each and every stores carries a celebrity capsule collection that runs along side the main lines. The only real negative I find is that fashion has become somewhat homogenised as everyone tends to follow the same celebs. Menswear is now staring to move in the same direction with the likes of David Beckham, Zac Efron and Zayn Malik to name a few of the male celebs the everyday man follow to gain insight into fashion.

My hope for the future is that people start to find there feet, aspiring to be is a great start but it should be a spring board for you to be who you are, experiment and challenge and aspire to inspire those around you.

Fashionmashed.

Jil Sander – SS17

Ilove these clean lines. Wonderful knitted jumper, the armhole seam is right past the shoulder and that gives a real soft slouch style, lovely texture to the knit. The trousers are flat fronted and straight leg slightly cropped to show off those boots. Styled with the jumper tucked in which is the look for this season.

This shirt and trouser combo gives the illusion that it’s a jumpsuit, the self colour belt adds to the effect. The dhirt I’d fly fronted again shown in many of this seasons shows, lovely high neck instead of collars. Simple jacket with huge patch pockets with flaps. The lovely tonal colouring looks beautiful.

Another great tonal look with this beautiful light purple. Gorgeous soft leather jacket.

Beautiful ombré dyed two buttoned single breasted suit. Just gorgeous. Really lovely relaxed cut.

That ombré put to good use again. Another wonder outfit. The jacket is gorgeous, cool patch pockets and I love those collars.

Simplistic tone on tone colouring used to such great effect. Lovely highs collar shirt and note the fly front to,hide all those buttons.

I love this colour, such a wonderful deep blue. Another great tone on tone outfit. Same easy simple styling.

Large prints can be very hit or miss this one is a easy hit just by the use of colour, simple earthy tones and just enough to give a wonderful texture to the print. Styling is as before with the fly front shirt and those wonderful wide half sleeves.

I really love this suit it’s just stunning. Wonderful print again, great scale and those colours are beautiful. The styling is fantastic, I really love the high button fastening with the short lapels. This is the outfit I want for my wardrobe

.

This is a unbelievably beautiful leather jacket. The leather looks so soft and relaxed. Wonderful clean lines, simple colours that khaki jumper is really cool. Love this.

Jil Sander SS17 – this collection is based on simplistic, clean lines and wonderfully relaxed cutting. There is no fuss and nothing extra yet everything is done so well that the outfits have a real standout quality to them. The colour pallet is beautiful, rich with earthy tones which is so right for this season. I like the Ombré and the large prints so amazing. This is a very special collection, don’t over look it.
