Tod’s – SS17

Really interesting worn look to this leather jacket, it’s got a touch of acid wash about it. The dark patches to the pockets and the rib look beautiful. Time on time trousers and then to finish the same worn look to those loafers. Classic colouring of taupe matched with sky blue.

Just the most beautiful soft suede biker jacket. I love the big lapels, the epaulettes and the self fabric pullers on those zips. Single pleat trousers are beautifully cut, again classic colouring with the stone shades and that crisp white shirt.

Lovely relaxed styling with this four button double breasted suit. Those lapels with the extra large sizing look very cool and work well this the relaxed nature of this outfit. The knitted tee has a wonderful texture to it. Not the styling with the jacket worn just on the shoulders.

Leather is cool, but suede is just so much more sophisticated. Another beautiful biker style jacket, love the peaked flaps on those pockets. Grandfather collar shirt, love the contrasted white buttons. Lovely earthy tones.

More of the tonal colouring which works so well in this collection. A beautiful six button double breasted blazer in denim. The tailoring on this blazer is just that little bit sharper then the ones before, those square edges work well for the fabric. Lovely dark buttons that become a feature. Very cool.

The shirt jacket, this version with the four pockets has a touch of the utility about it. Note the flaps and the slant cut to them, also the pockets themselves with the box pleats, lovely. The buttons have been replaced by the press stud.

The leather blazer, I love leather blazers. This version with its relaxed cut is gorgeous and that chocolate colour is stunning. Simple easy sweatshirt, classic stone colouring and note the styling with the sleeves showing over the leather blazer and pulled up to the elbow.

The double jacket look of this season continues. The inner jacket seems to be a anorak of sorts. The outer just a classic overcoat. Contrasted with the white is such a classic nautical look.

Tod’s SS17 – Beautiful clean lines, relaxed tailoring done so well. Simple shapes with wonderful fabrics and a beautiful colour palette. It’s hard not to want everything in this collection it’s very well made and beautifully styled. The blazers have those large lapels which give them that 70’s edge. I love, love, love the suede especially the biker jacket just stunning. What I noticed is the lack of black in the collection which is a breath of fresh air. I love those earthy tones, exploring colour should never be shied away from. All in all a beautiful collection.

Salvatore Ferragamo – SS17

A beautifully cut suit, very sharpe tailoring yet done with a relaxed styling. I like the patch pockets with those peaked flaps such a lovely detail. The trousers slim and then the styling of the double wrapped belt adds that edge. Simple vertical stripped tee, note the binding on the neck and the way the stripe changes direction. The stone colour of the suit fantastic and works so well with the khaki stripe.

Summer knitwear, done so well. The deep V neck in that wider rib looks lovely. The relaxed dropped shoulder gives a great shape as the fabric has wonderful drape quality to it. The trousers have a touch of the utility about them, wonderfully tailored with the wider leg and then that pocket that sits on the waist, very cool.

The Safari suit, a very well put together outfit. The utility look coming through stronger on this one. The suit itself has the classic four patch pockets again the peaks on the flaps are a lonely touch as is the belt around the waist. The shirt and tie lift it as both are printed and then to finish it off we have that rucksack. I love this look.

The grandad collar shirt, a trend that’s showing well this season. The deep placket is a love;y detail as is the loop fastening for the top button. Not the turned up sleeves for styling. The trousers are very well tailored and have that carrot cut shape to them, again great use of the double belt.

Simply gorgeous deep V neck jumper, just look at those large collars and how they sit so back and across the shoulders such a wonderful shape. The deep V is perfect to show off that matching patterned shirt and tie combo. The colouring is perfect, that wonderful deep blue complimented with the khaki. I love this outfit.

Such a lovely reworking of the jumpsuit. Stunning tailoring and cut, take note of that fly front that shorts at the collars, wonderful detail. Again the use of the doulble belt and matched with that awesome leather biker jacket. Styled with the sleeves pulled up. The khaki is such a fantastic colour, this is a jacket that I really want, I love it.

The simplicity of an outfit like this makes it so special. The deep V which is a theme in this collection is just that bit wider around the neck and the badge detail is a lovely touch. Utility pants done in that wonderful silver grey fabric, tailoring meets the outdoorsman.

A favourite in my own wardrobe, the shirt jacket, sloughs this one has been styled with the tuck in, a styling theme used throughout all the shows this season. A wonderful conversational print, love the patch pocket.

Classic Harrington jacket shape. I love the clean lines, the embroidery is a nice move along from the badges we have been seeing over the last few seasons. Note the double puller zipper on the jacket. A wonderful colour combo of that stone contrasted with the deep navy blue.

The Navy single breasted suit a staple in any mans wardrobe. The navy colour of this suit has a wonderful true colour about it, some Navy suits are so dark that they almost look Black which defeats the object of wearing Navy. Note the peaked pocket flaps a beautiful detail. Simple khaki vest underneath and a reworking of the neckachief with the scarf worn untied and draped around the neck, very cool.

Up to this point the whole collection has been tailored but this outfit moves in slightly more casual vain. This longline knitted vest is beautiful, the khaki stripe base is very cool and then those flashes of colour placed randomly across the rest of the vest. Love it.

For me the standout knitted piece of this collection. Ultra deep V and done so well with that contrast stripe rib. I love the use of the different shades of colour that make up,this outfit. The trousers have a touch of the sportsluxe as the are made up in jersey, styled with the legs pulled up,to the knee. A fantastic outfit.

I really love the shape of these jersey trousers, the slim line and you can tell that the fabric has a wonderful weight to it just by how it holds itself to the models legs, really fantastic. The navy contrasted with that beautiful yellow, a wonderful utility jacket with lots of pockets and straps, oversized in fit just adds to the overall balance to the outfit.

I had to add another Navy single breasted suit, it’s a personal favourite of mine.  And I Leo love the styling, with a simple navy tee shirt underneath and I also love the sleeves being pulled up. A gorgeous look.

Salvatore Ferragamo SS17 – As you may of expected Italian tailoring done to perfection. I have to say the cut of each tailored outfit has been excellently done, the shapes, the way the fabric drapes just look stunning and the easy of it actually betrays how good you have to be to get these things right, it’s a real art. The styling is wonderful, I love the double belts, the rolled up sleeves and the scarf around the neck of that suit. A very simple colour palette with a base of Navy, love the tones of khaki, a bright yellow, stones and silver greys. This simply is beautiful collection and worth your time and effort to look through.

Ralph Lauren – SS17

A classic Ralph Lauren outfit if ever there was one. The v neck jumper with that pattern is gorgeous, I love it. Wonderfully cut single breasted blazer, great slim lapels. I like the detail of the shoes matching the trousers.

Top Gun 2 is rumoured to be going into production so could this be Ralph Lauren throwing his hat in for the costume design? This actually is a really cool outfit. I love the cut of the jumpsuit especially the legs. The patch pockets and the embroidery detail is lovely.

Fantastic utility jacket in that awesome khaki colour and then that shock of fushia with that jumper just works so well. I love exploring colours and this combo is worth playing with.

This is an interesting outfit the hoodie has a real touch of the utility about it. The cord drawstring on the neck is a great detail. The camo khaki is fantastic, contrasted in with the white is very cool.

The biker jacket and this is a really awesome version, you can have your leather but I’d chose this every time. The utility look continues with the cargo pants, the slim cut works so well. I love the red scarf around the neck.

The bomber jacket continues and this is a lovely version with the quilting stitch. The double pocket detail on the jacket is fantastic. The silver grey colour on both the jacket and the jumper is the best part of this outfit.

If you’ve had enough of the bomber jacket that this body warmer is definitely a good option. The use of the jersey fabric on the sleeves contrasted with the puffer nylon front looks really cool and again I’m just loving that grey.

What an amazing jacket, the detail is wonderful from the toggle button fastening, to,the leather patched shoulders to the piping on the cuffs and tabs, a real statement peice. Simple styling with that stripe tee and white jeans. Fantastic look.

A little bit of the sportsluxe coming through with that soft bomber. I love the raglan sleeves and the black zip detail. Really lovely look.

The humble cardigan should be a stable in any mans wardrobe. This version with that mono pattern and then a little tease of colour is amazing. Leave the blazer at home and stand out from the crowd.
Ralph Lauren SS17 – A very clean cut collection as you would expect from RL. It’s always in the detail, every outfit is thought out, the cut of each garment, each pocket and placement, each zip button and fastening everything just seems to fit so well. The other key to this collection is simplicity and ease, each outfit has a simple colour palette, I love that tone of khaki, then that metallic silver grey, pure white and then just a tease of colour from that fuchsia, just gorgeous. Easily wearable collection, a true masterpiece.

Philipp Plein – SS17

Sportsluxe has really come into its own this season. Incredible leather shorts, the oversize baggy shape is key. Classic lettermans bomber jacket, love the epaulettes detail and to finish the humble hoodie. The vivid orange and black colouring is fantastic.

The double jacket is very stylish and normally the look consists of a long jacket worn over a short jacket but in this outfit the 2 bombers are the same save for the hood on the inner jacket. The combination works well. I love the inner bomber with the quiltted fabric and the orange colour reminds me of the inside of a classic MA-1. Zip detail is lovely.

This is a stunning rework of a classic one button single breasted jacket. The letterman detail is lovely buts it’s the use of the sport rib that takes it to the next level. Simple open neck tee and then those amazing leather trousers.

Sportsluxe should mean just that, you need the glamour and the glitz and that’s what I love about this outfit. Badges have been on trend for a while now but this are so much more glamorous then the normal, shinny, bright and oversized. Love it.

The biker pants have been another trend that seems to be carrying on and these leather ones are fantastic. The straight leg gives them a different dimension compared to the traditional slim leg. The trackie top is reclaimed by the catwalk this year and it’s being upgraded so that you can match it to a classic single breasted blazer.this is certainly a look to explore.

Layering has always been a big part of sportswear. I’ve always loved the Olympics and seeing the athletes in there tracksuits, revealing a sweatshirt then a tee and then there shorts and even into there vests…. that’s how I see this outfit… the vest, the lightweight bomber, the hoodie and then the overcoat. Loving the half and half leather, really cool.

I really love this hooded sweatshirt, the quilted sleeves and those lush badges. The grey marl is a personal favourite of mine. Those three quarter pants with the leather panels are fantastic, the zip detail on the pockets are a great touch.

A change of pace. More use of those incredible badges on those jeans and I like the dtyling with the denim shirt around the waist. That jacket, just gorgeous in that yellow. I love it.

Now this is a really cool move along from this years bomber jacket. Lightweight and short sleeves, loving the padding on the shoulders a lovely detail. On trend ripped jeans and styled well with the jacket tied around the waist.

Whire on white on white. Loving the quilted bomber just fantastic. Such a glam vest and again the styling with the denim shirt around the waist.

More glam, a little reworking of the track & suit. Classic track bottoms the drawstring detail is lovely especially those big gold eyelets. Then a single breasted jacket with the contrast lapels. Brings smart casual to the next level.

If your gonna go to the court and you want to make a statement then this outfit is for you. That amazing gold print is fantastic, the leopard is very cool. I like the plain black binding on the vest and the black panels to the shorts.
Philipp Plein SS17 – The world of sports is full of glamour especially if you are an aspiring WAG. This collection brings sportswear and glamour together in a collision of leather, sparkle, gold and colour. The outfit have a sense of the sensual about them as well because of the fabrics used, the quilting, the sweatshirt grey marl and the soft leather. Full of attitude and details this collection has so much happening in it. A real standout collection for showing the urban sportluxe trend that’s growing and growing. Simply beautiful.

No. 21 – SS17

A fantastic track suit top, love those chevrons on the sleeves and the white stripes but of course it’s the printed panels that makes this outfit so cool. Love it.

Lace and we are seeing more of this in menswear especially this season. I personally love the use of lace in menswear. This shirt is lovely and the collars with the contrast edge just adds to the whole look.

This is another collection where there is a mixing of sportswear and military. The jacket which is a cross between a shirt and an anorak has the added detail of those military stripe badges. You then have that white tee underneath which the sporting number print, finished off with the bottoms that have those great patch pockets and zip detail to the bottom of the legs.

Anoraks, I think anoraks don’t get the accolade that the deserve. I love this version with the bronze, silver and red. More anoraks please!

The simplicity of this knit and the palm trees are what makes this so stylish. The colour is fantastic too.

The sleeveless shirt in a classic western style just look at the back yoke with the sweetheart shape. The colour is amazing and I love the lace, really cool.

We’re seeing more of the check shirt this season, lovely styling by having a grandad collar shirt underneath a normal collar shirt, double up for a dramatic look. Layering is key with that wonderful grey knit.

Half sleeve tropical print shirt but kept in that monotone, simple yet so effective. Layered styling with that tee and a pu print, all contrasted with those gorgeous red jeans.

No.21 SS17 – a collection for the ultra casual man, based on simple street wear but done with a twist. A really fantastic collection. Layering is key to the styling, the colours and the prints are gorgeous. I especially love the tract suit top with the printed yoke and the lace shirt is a must. The humble anorak is not to be missed this season, that silver stripe sits so well with those other colours. This collection is full of interesting ideas and is a must for all those who are into there street fashions but want to push the boundaries. Amazing work.

Neil Barrett – SS17

Who can resist a good leather jacket, black is classic but brown is altogether much cooler in my opinion. The chevrons cut into the jacket are placed interesting with half on the front and the other half on the sleeves showing great technical skill in pattern and make up. I love the colours used that red used to add that touch of highlight. Simple top and slim trousers in black as not seek any attention away from the jacket.

This beautiful suede jacket has the most amazing rich colour, very simple in design finished with the same panel work as the leather jacket before. I like the slightly oversized buttons in black that contrasts so well.

Another lovely leather jacket again the use of tonal colours, I love the ring pullers used on the zips. The jacket has a very vintage feel to it, love those big deep pockets. The trousers are biker in style which has been a trend that seems to be staying on the high street, more of the same panel work incorporated into it.

The knitted tee shirt, an item that’s sorely missed from my wardrobe. Simple colour blocking used to great effect. The trousers have a wonderful pin tuck detail to it for that stay in crease right down the front of the leg.

Leather and suede, when you mix the 2 skins normally it’s done with a precise symmetry but this jacket has that strong seam line going diagonally across the front which makes a real statement. The geometric panels in white reminds me of the kind of biker jackets worn by professional bike racers.

That same diagonal seam used on the jacket put to good use on this polo shirt. The strong lines and the same panelling really works and gives a dramatic effect.

The sports luxe feel to this collection continues with this classic tracksuit top, that diagonal seam has now taken centre stage and the colouring just gets better and better.

Slight oversize feel to this single breasted blazer, those shoulders are big. I really love that sky blue with the chocolate brown such a wonderful combination. The geometric patterns continue with the print on the tee.

I love this shirt, it has a real military feel to it with those epaulettes, patch pockets and fly front. The panel work as expected. Such lovely trousers especially the elasticated waistband.

A little change up with the colours but the styling of course still has that 70’s look. Strong geometric shapes once again, love those ring zip pullers. Simple white tee and again those trousers with the elasticated waistband.

I love my sweatshirts and this one is a fantastic one. First the graphics, geometric with those amazing colours especially the pink/red but then that fabric which has that structured quality about that I love. Such clean lines.

Loving this look, the pink/red colouringnhas now been swapped for the yellow which I prefer, such a wonderful combination. The trousers with that pressed in crease look amazing, a very spohicated look.

The biker bottoms leans itself well to all the panel work. I also like the cut of these with legs narrowing down to the hem but finished off with the zip detail.
Neil Barrett SS17 – Alchemy at its best, the 70’s mixed with sports luxe seasoned with a touch of military and added biker chic to taste. This is a wonderful collection, full of strong lines and graphics but all done very cleanly. Nothing is out of place or overpowering each outfit is very finely balanced and for me the colouring is the key. Brown in every shade and mixed together in the same outfit, the sky blue is such a delicious combination, that pink/red is a winner but the lemon is my personal favourite. A work of beauty.
