Casely-Hayford A/W 17

The humble grandad collar shirt. Great detail with oversized contrast button and the button stand. I love that grey coat that’s underneath. The parka has a fantastic print, the pockets and the Velcro fastenings are all great design details. What works well are the different coat lengths, a great feature as the usual way to wear a double coat is the shorter coat underneath and the longer coat on top, this is a lovely way of mixing it up a little.

The grandad collar continues. A really lovely checked four button double breasted blazer. The contrast with the chalk stripe trousers is interesting and adds another level to this outfit. The cropped knitted jumper is a beautiful shade of teal green, but you can’t really see the rib work that’s incorporated into the design which is a shame.

I really love those trousers, the drape, the fullness around the ankles, sharpe pleats and the texture to the fabric just beautiful. Simple stripe jumper, the extended neck rib adds another layer to this whole look. A wonderful single breasted overcoat, simple and beautiful.

This is a fantastic reworking of the tracksuit top. I love the detail of the high rib neck turning into a roll neck, it looks amazing. Great zip detail to give it that finish. The trousers have a fantastic print to them and it all works really well with that beautiful grey overcoat.

The crop length is used throughout this show. Beautiful crop grandad collar shirt. I’m not sure if the waistcoat is apart of the shirt or if it’s a separate garment but what I do know is that it’s the same fabric as the shirt, the shoulders are extended to give structure to the look. The trouser are the same chalk stripe trousers as before.

Such a beautiful grey double breasted overcoat. I really love that functional lapels and the way it’s pulled over the neckline. The trousers have a great look to them, I like the distressed treads but incorporated into a polka dot pattern.

A wonderfully tailored single breasted suit. The big rib roll neck tracksuit top as before. Lovely double zip detail, I like the styling with the bottom zip open.

A beautiful double breasted blazer, I love that grey fabric. A gorgeous colour blocked waistcoat underneath. Beautiful leather bands and pocket flaps. The trousers are as before with that wonderful ethnic print.

A beautiful collection, quintessentially British. Wonderful overcoats, I really like the parka with the print worn on top of a longer overcoat, lovely styling. The knits have unusual asymmetric necklines, the colours are fantastic especially the teal. Prints are subtle and have a depth and texture. The tailoring is soft and full of detail, great pleats and extended waistbands. The fabric in checks and one of my favourites the chalk stripes work so well. The sportsluxe crossover doesn’t seem to be losing momentum, the tracksuit top with the double zip detail and that amazing extra large rib collar is contrasted with a wonderfully tailored single breasted suit.

Astrid Andersen A/W 17

A fantastic split block jacket. Diamond padded top half and a narrow corduroy bottom half. I like the contrast of the shiny nylon and the matte corduroy, it really works well. The chunky bronze zip detail is lovely. The trousers are corduroy too in that delicious chocolate colour. I love that belt with the gold clasp fastening which I am using myself.

Classic parka jacket. Again a split version with the nylon padded fabric and the contrasted corduroy. The zips all big and chunky are generously applied to this jacket. The bottoms are styled like a classic tracksuit bottom carrying on the sportsluxe theme of the spring summer collection.

I just love love love this this beautiful lace gold foil tee, cut with a raglan sleeve. I like the rib on the neck and sleeves. Lovely wide leg corduroy trousers. A shame we can’t see the jacket.

The corduroy continues. A classic hoody, raglan sleeve, shoelace tie a lovely detail. The bottoms are cut big and baggy with a pleated front and that clasp fastening on the belt.

A beautiful flowing print shirt and what a print. I like that rich cream base colour and then the feathers which look like they have been printed in watercolour. Simple scarf with the rib edge detail and a printed Varsity number. Lovely skinny tracksuit bottoms / trousers in what appears to be a heavy nylon fabric.

That beautiful feather print continues but this time as a placement print. I love the rich cream colour to this outfit. Simple sweatshirt and tracksuit bottoms, lovely narrow shape to the legs. Such a lovely scarf as before with the rib edge.

I love velvet and I’m using it myself generously at work myself. This deep khaki is such a beautiful colour. A wonderful kimono style jacket, I really like the black edge around the neck be the sleeves. The sweatshirt with the now classic Astrid logo which incidentally works really well because of the size. The bottoms look really cool in that grey and black animal print, the grey compliments the khaki of the velvet really well.

More of the blocking technique being used on this outfit. The classic padded bomber jacket, top half with the same grey and black animal print as before, the bottom half with the padded diamond shape. The blocking has also been used on the tracksuit. The top in the shoe of the vintage Kappa triangle of the 80’s. The bottoms cut in panels just below the knee.

Simply stunning overcoat, the real star of the show. Beautiful blocking, the top half in black fur and the bottom half in cow hide with Astrid Andersen branded around the hem edge. I love the bronze satin tape that divides the two fabrics.

Astrid Andersen A/W 17 – a wonderful start to the Autumn / Winter 2017 Menswear collections. Astrid Andersen is fast becoming the go to collection for Sportsluxe with added glamor, when I say added Glamour what I actually mean is……G L A M O U R…. The richness in colours, the use of beautiful fabrics, the delicate prints mixed with classic tracksuit shapes. I really love this collection, it has an attitude, it has a confidence, it has a masculinity yet it is undeniably beautiful.

Haider Ackermann – SS17

A very interesting collarless shirt. Losing the collars the front panels have been built up around the neck, the buttons hidden away underneath giving a wonderful clean finish. Colour blocking has been used to great effect especially the black panel around the neck giving the illusion of a lost bow tie. Beautiful flowing fabric that gives a wonderful drape. Super skinny jeans which I really love.

The jumpsuit but like no other, a real emphasis on the word suit. A true all in one. The shirt panel wonderfully formal, the cut is sharpe. Note the sleeves are pulled up and cuffs turned out. The bottoms are wide and cropped in length, the interest comes from the burnt effect print down the left hand leg. The waistband with that print just breaks up the white bottoms and the blue shirt.

This is a fantastic one button single breasted blazer. Lovely detail with the shawl collars, the button is covered in self fabric and the cut of the blazer is very narrow around the waist. Beautiful turquoise colour, wonderfully matched with the purple of the grandad collar shirt. Note the oversize fly front to hide those buttons.

I love this outfit, it’s very cool. A beautiful collarless overcoat, styled with the sleeves turned up. The oversized shirt with those notched lapels is fantastic, I love that print and the sky blue colour. The aqua colour of the skinny jeans actually works really well with the sky blue shirt and you wouldn’t of put those colours together normally. You have to admit it’s those lace up boots that add that edge to this out. Outstanding.

I love floral patterned shirts, this one would look amazing in my wardrobe. The yellow base and the black floral is really cool. The sports luxe continues with those awesome trousers with the stripes down the sides. Lovely pleat detail and the fullness in the thigh, crop on length and turned up.

The bomber jacket, tone on tone, only real men can wear pink. I love the stitch detail on the jacket it’s very subtle and could be easily missed. Again those amazing super skinny jeans. Oh I missed out the yellow rib on the bomber, beautiful. Finish off with great boots and the outfit is complete.

Metallics are very much a staple in womenswear, menswear is starting to look to these shiny fabrics now even H&M have a silver shinny t-shirt in right now. The red is a fantastic colour. The jacket is very coolie styled tied around the waist. The oversize shirt works well, fantastic print, love those stripes. I like the cut, the drop shoulders, long sleeves and then those big cuffs. Love it.

A fantastic metallic bomber again I like the stitch work and the contrast black rib. Classic hoodie styling, lovely jade colouring. Metallic stripe skinny trousers, super skinny and crop in length.

The oversize styling continues, a gorgeous stripe knitted cardigan. Really cool drop shoulders, long sleeves and big rib cuffs. Those khaki bottoms are fantastic, I love the cut, those narrow legs, the rib finish on the hem, drawstring to the waist. The khaki looks fantastic with those black and white stripes.

A wonderful single breasted cropped blazer, beautiful orange colour and then that amazing silver line flowers. Shawl lapels and then those open button sleeves, very cool. Interesting bleaching effect to those black jeans and also note the seam at the knee giving just that little bit of shaping to the bottoms.

A lovely sleeveless leather jacket, love the zip detail and the padding on the shoulders. Again classic styling with the hoodie, oversized. That gorgeous yellow base print as before and those lovely stripes down the sides of the legs. I love the casualness of the turn ups.

Texture is just as important as colour and people forget about that. Amazing super skinny bottoms with that very subtle stripe, really love these. Interesting detail with the double belt. Then wonderful yellow printed shirt worn underneath a classic printed bomber. This is a gorgeous outfit.

Haider Ackermann SS17 – This is a truly beautiful collection. Full of vibrantly, bold colours and prints. The shapes are oversized and perfectly balanced with those super skinny bottoms. Wonderful tailoring which cannot be ignored, contrasted with the oversized slouched look of the sports luxe trend coming through this season. To go with the beautiful colours are subtle textures in the fabrics, seams are added to create shape and those are great details. This is an outstanding collection full of glamour, it’s the sort of collection that once worn would fill you with confidence.

Carven – SS17

Colour-blocking used to great effect in this outfit. A beautiful pastel shaded button down collar shirt. Pastel tee underneath. Note the shirt is styled with one side tucked in. The shorts are well tailored and long in length, classic Seesucker stripe but with the pink colouring. I love that texture.

A wonderful knitted jumper, I really like that zip detail to the seam of the raglan sleeve. I love the colours used in the stripes and that gorgeous teal used as a base. The pink Seersucker stripe used as before on the shirt, again note only one side of the shirt hanging out. The trousers have an interesting detail of a stripe panel used on the top left hand side.

A better look at those trousers now. Beautiful deep blue in colour. The stripe panels on the top edge looks fantastic, I like how the panel goes into the front pockets a really lovely detail. The stripes carry on in various forms on the jumper. Keeping the colour palette simple works to great effect.

A cross breed, a real shirt jacket. Such a beautiful lightweight jacket, I love the orange colour and the blue rib with the stripes. The shirt underneath adds to the double collars which actually looks really cool. Again the shirt with one side tucked into the shorts. The shorts themselves have a wonderful texture to them, they have a single pleat to them to help the shape of the wider hem which is finished turned up.

A classic slim line single breasted two button suit. Lovely soft tailoring. Another version of the colour block shirt as before. The yellow and sky blue is a great combination.

Fantastic knitted top with buttonless placket and collars, really beautiful colouring with that deep purple contrasted with the fuchsia. The shorts with that longline length have a wonderful texture with a very subtle line print.

A wonderful printed anorak, note the drawstring to the waist which is a lovely detail. The shirt again styled as before with one side tucked in and the other side out, also has a very subtle print to it. Simple one pleat cropped trouser.

The prints are becoming a little more vivid, a classic sweatshirt with a very artist floral watercolour print. Matched with those lovely Seersucker stripe tailored shorts.

The bomber jacket, we’ve seen this fabric before. Beautiful texture and a subtle print. Note the rib to the neck has been placed so that the line of the centre front is unbroken, a really lovely touch. The Seersucker trousers are black on the front panels and blue on the back panels.

Colour blocking is a great way to add a pop of colour to any garment. I love this jumper and the lime green panel looks fantastic. The double shorts, the first one underneath can’t really be seen except for a little bit of the print and the lime green drawstring. The shorts on top has a great textured and well tailored. There is a matching jacket but it’s worn tied around the body and can’t really be seen.

A really wonderful outfit, the tonal greys and then that gorgeous lime green. Again great use of a subtle print on the coat, look carefully and you can just make out some sort of animal print.

Carven SS17 – a wonderful collection, simple shapes, beautiful tailoring. I love the knitwear, the textures really make the difference. The prints are artist and are subtle, I especially love the the floral print on the sweatshirt. What really stands out in this collection has to be the colours. The black, navy, greys are all good base colours but the pop of colours, the fuchsia, the lime green, the lilac, red and orange all come together in a delightful mix that I adore.

Dirk Bikkembergs – SS17

A lovely version of a biker jacket. Complete white on white to make a big statement. Love the extra large zip detail. The bottom are really cool, fantastic cut and rib cuff at the hem.

Fantastic chunky jumper, love that wide neck. Lovely subtle detail on the side with that appliqué. White tailored shorts, longline in length and then turn up for styling. The huge gold chain is an interesting detail.

Repeat after me, children are not fashion accessories…. children are not fashion accessories…. children are not fashion accessories…. children are not fashion accessories…. but I just love this, having 2 boys of my own we love dressing in the same look. The red trousers have a perfect slim leg cut, the blazer has a strong shape to it, works really well.

The knitted V neck top look really cool, the open knit in the middle in a test angle shape looks interesting. Matching jersey bottoms a cross between tradition trousers with that fly front and track bottoms with the rib cuff. Collarless bomber jacket styled with that lush scarf. Very cool.

Spring / Summer 17 will be about stars, a lot have been shown in the womenswear collections and now a few are crossing over to the menswear collections. I love the graphics on this knit and also the colour block look. The bottoms are as before he styled with the shin pads, a new sports-luxe accessory.

The stars theme continues with this classic leather collarless biker jacket. The cut of the jacket is very slimline, those sleeves could be painted on. Slimline bottoms and again the shin pad styling.

Sportswear fabrics are now a mainstay in the fashion industry. I love the mesh used in this shorts and blazer combo. Note the detail of the slant pockets and also the seams on the shoulders. I like the detail of how the fabric is doubled up on the hem of the shorts. This is a fantastic outfit.

Such a fantastic print on this shirt sleeve shirt and I like the styling of the sleeves turned up. I love that print, the floral and graphic background, gorgeous colours used. The shiny PU shorts are extremely short and have a really nice detail of a mesh panel with a red lining underneath. I love this outfit.

The same print as before, this time used as panels in a bomber jacket. The jacket itself is a raglan sleeve which is a great shape for this sports-luxe collection. The shorts are wide and big, again the mesh fabric has a contrast colour lining underneath. Very cool.

I love this suit, gorgeous soft jersey tailoring. The mesh panels are a great detail. The slimline cut of the trousers are amazing, the suit lapels are long and narrow. Stunning outfit.

A lovely six button double breasted suit. I love the narrow wrap over. The leather patch on the shoulder and sleeve is the kind you would find on a tweed hunting jacket the kind someone would wear to go shooting with.

Layering has always been apart of sports wear styling. This is a classic look with those running tights worn underneath those oversize shorts. Lovely tropical floral print mixed with those graphic stripes. The leather jacket has been mixed with jersey, the panels on the sleeves are a great detail.

If you want a tux that’s going to stand you out from the crowd then this one. This tropical print is lovely, it’s not just the colours that make it look fantastic it’s also the scale of the print. The suit itself has lovely shawl lapels in the contrast black.

Another beautiful print on a fantastic tux, contrast black shawl lapels as before.

And to finish another version of that tux, this time classic black but with that touch of glam with those silver shawl lapels. Always finish an outfit like this with the correct shoes.

Dirk Bikkembergs SS17 – a wonderful collection with some fantastic ideas for the new season. Immersed in the sports luxe theme that’s really taking off for this season. I love the prints in those vivid colours pushed that next step further by the scale used. Little extra touches like the shin pads and the leather shoulder patch on the double breasted suit really finish each outfit. The cut and shape of each garment has been wonderfully thought out, the layering and the use of sports jersey fabrics show a real wit and intelligence to the design. A truly outstanding collection.

Giorgio Armani – SS17

Classic soft tailoring this wonderful 2 button single breasted suit. The blazer has the pocket detail you would find on a Safari suit with the box pleat detail and flaps. The vintage diamond pattern is simple yet very effective in this colour way. Matched by the oversize buttons.

A very interesting blazer with the narrow shirt style collars. Again I love the use of the oversize buttons. I also like the detail of the piping used on the edge of the blazer. Styled with the top two buttons closed. Soft tailored trouser to give the effect of a suit.

A reworking of the shirt jacket. Cropped in length with press stud fastening. Lovely shawl collars detail. The trouser as before a soft tailored with great drape to them with the slant pockets.

A beautifully textured blazer with a high fastening point making the collars short but the width of them stops the blazer from being unbalanced. Simple fine knitted polo shirt, vintage diamond pattern. Classic Armani pleated trouser with turn ups. I like the styling with only the very top button fastened.

A little reworking of the bomber that’s in fashion right now. Again the piping detail to the edge is one of my favourite details to this garment and the contrast colour ribs collar looks very cool.

A small step into the Sports-luxe look of this season. The jacket / cardigan has a look and feel like it came from the wardrobe of an Olympic fencer. I love the waffle texture and the high neck with no collars.

A really beautiful patterned blazer, the print is gorgeous and it’s all about the scale that really works. Simple tile print and those colours are fantastic. Cropped length and the fastening starting slightly higher because of it. Classic pleated drape trousers and a simple blue tee underneath.

A slightly different tile print but again a great use of scale that brings this print to life. The trousers have that wonderful drape to them and the exposed button fly which is a nice detail. The soft tailoring carries on through to that wonderful overcoat.

This years anorak gets a showing at Armani. Wonderful oversized hood and great zip detail on the sleeves. The tee has a simple tile effect placement print. The classic Armani double pleated drape trouser, note that the pleats are shallow.

I’m loving this beautiful four button single breasted suit. Wonderful relaxed tailoring, I really like the straight cut of the hem on the blazer. The trouser again double pleated but using that shallow pleat and narrowing down the leg.

Digital placement print and the man himself and why not. Lightweight knitted long sleeve wide neck top, really lovely shape. The jacket worn over the shoulder for style. The drape trouser, wide and loose. Beautiful colour palette which I’ve yet to mention.

The soft tailored jersey blazer seems to be making a come back, wonderful relaxed styling. The blister effect on the jacquard adds a lovely texture to the print. The contrast to the blazer collar just helps to left the blazer and define the lapels. The tee matched perfectly and then that wonderful pleated trouser with the narrow leg.

The knitted cardigan, love the piping effect around the edges. A simple swirled pattern along the edge, beautiful narrow collars and I love that rounded edge to the hem. The wide neck tee as before.

Another single breasted jersey blazer. This time the placement of the buttons are low so that more of the tee is exposed and of course the lapels then lengthen. The top of the lapels have a subtle print. The detail to the sleeves are a nice touch.

Finally a double breasted blazer and this one doesn’t disappoint. The Seersucker stripe in that wonderful navy and marine blue combination looks gorgeous. The buttons sit narrow and close together and the hem of the blazer then cuts away from them at an angle. Styled with a neckachief, gorgeous.

Another reworking of the classic bomber jacket. Made in a check jersey, the pockets are interestingly cut straight across rather then angled. Matched with a simple navy shirt and then a printed trouser.

A really wonderfully knitted cardigan, I especially love those boxed pockets. High neck collars, featured with those extra large buttons. The trouser have a beautiful texture to the fabric which looks fantastic.

Another wonderful jersey blazer, I love those pockets. The shirt looks to be made of silk, the placket is styled like a baseball shirt. Another lovely neckachief. The trousers worn low on the hip are wide and loose.

Fantastic collarless knitted tee, I love that pattern. Wonderful colouring, works really well with that lightweight black suit. That thin belt gives the trousers that paper bag waistline.

Giorgio Armani SS17 – the most wonderful soft tailored collection. Beautiful gentle soft lines, simple geometric patterns and fantastic tones of blues, greys, browns, reds and creams. The summer knitwear are my favourite but the standout pieces are the jersey blazers especially the patterned versions. This is the ultimate casual collection, stunning.

http://www.vogue.com/fashion-shows/spring-2017-menswear/giorgio-armani

Versace – SS17

I love that Versace has embraced the Sportsluxe theme of this season. Luxury has always been the key to Versace and the fabric is definitely that. Beautiful tight bottoms, wonderful crop length on the top with that wide boat neck. Long line anorak, all in khaki green. How can you not love this outfit.

A beautiful longline Suede overcoat. Suede is really showing well this season and I personally love Suede, a wonderful investment piece. Another wide neck tee underneath. The bottoms are soft tailored and have a wonderful drape and fluidity to them. Beautiful colour combinations, earthy tones of taupe, stone and grey.

The Suede continues with this wonderful shirt. Note the patch pockets and the self fabric buttons. The bottoms in the wonderful grey check have the pin tucked stay in seam down the front and then an elasticated cuff at the end of the legs.

A retake on the bomber jacket but this version has a hood. Lovely creased fabric. Matched with a very scoop neck tee. I love those tight tight meggings, very cool. The colour are wonderful in this outfit. The brown, taupe and stone, gorgeous earthy tones.

Beautiful tailoring which is always to be excited with Versace. One button single breasted suit, lovely soft tailoring, beautiful flow to this outfit. The overcoat is made from the same creased fabric as the bomber hoodie of before. Note the oversized lapels.

The most beautiful knitted tee, the collars, the fly front hiding the buttons and the patch pocket really make this garment look incredible elegant. A wonderful Mac, amazing wide lapels. Again the earthy tones are fantastic.

Another collection showing the anorak and this one is best so far. Classic in its shape and styling, lots of pocket details and zips. If you are booing to add a anorak to your wardrobe then why not go all out with a wonderful print. I love those super tight bottoms.

Print on print shirt and blazer combo. The shirt is styled like a pyjama, those lapels look very cool especially styled with them sitting over the blazer. The trouser are also printed but move subtle then the shirt and blazer. Again the drape and flow of the fabric adds an extra dimension. Beautiful blue colours.

Such a wonderful outfit. I love the mesh fabric overcoat it’s the best garment in this collection. Matched perfectly with the khaki knitted top, perfectly balanced with those navy trousers.

A really interesting shirt with that bib detail. Almost has a look of armour about it. Sharpe cut collars and a bow tie. Black on black. Amazing look.

Add a little something extra to your tuxedo. Beautiful detail to that shirt, reminds me of the plume of a tropical bird, puffing its chest out trying to impress a mate, the on,y difference being the lack of colour. Black on black to add that touch of danger.

Versace SS17 – Sportsluxe with the emphasis on the luxury which is to be expected with a Versace collection. Beautiful soft tailoring on the casual outfits and then clean sharpe tailoring on the formal. I love the colours, especially those earthy tones. The luxury knits are my particular favourites and that gorgeous mesh fabric on the overcoat is fantastic. This collection is full of attitude and masculinity and ultimately very wearable. A supremely well put together collection.

http://www.vogue.com/fashion-shows/spring-2017-menswear/versace

Trussardi – SS17

Underwear as outerwear has always been a tread in ladies wear ever since Madonna turned up. Could this be transferred to menswear, well that’s still to be decided but this Pyjama suit could be a trend that breaks through. The shirt / jacket has some interesting detail, starting with those small lapels, the breast pocket and then cuffs to the sleeves. The inner is a grandad collar shirt, buttons all the way down. The bottoms like traditional pyjamas have an elasticated waistband and the drawstring. My favourite finishing touch to the outfit is that scarf. The print on print on print doesn’t really overpower this outfit as it’s such a wonderfully simple print, black with that electric blue.

Denim suits can be very difficult to get right but this version is done very well. The bleached stripe on the fabric is lovely and adds to balance out the bright colours and print of the shirt. Lovely narrow lapels and the contrast buttons are a fantastic touch. The trousers narrow and cropped. The shirt itself a lovely graphic mini checker board design with a base colour of pink works so well and of course another scarf in the same print to add that finishing touch.

This seasons sportsluxe influence comes into play with this outfit. The blazers crossed with a classic baseball jacket but to be fair this is more blazer then anything else. The contrast rib on the neck and the pocket draws your attention in. The trousers are relatively normal and have a turned up hem to finish. The graphic tee with the oversized print looks really cool and teasingly id love to see it on its own.

The print on print on print continues. I love this salt and pepper grey. The blazer is six button double breasted the narrow lapels as before. The trousers however are more in line with a tracksuit bottom. The elasticated drawstring waist and the elasticated cuff at the bottom hem. Lovely mix of soft and traditional tailoring. Oh please don’t miss out on that scarf detail, I just love it.

Oversized is no longer a trend but rather a fashion cut and styling all on its own. Beautiful soft tailoring with this blazer, slouched shoulders and the cuffs turned up on the sleeves. Print on print on print, a lovely grandad collar shirt, styled with the neck open and yes… a scarf! (Don’t let it stop!). Those leather trousers are gorgeous, with that added touch of texture. Narrow and cropped by design.

More of that mixed styling, the country feel of that oversized chunky cardigan, matched with the grandad collar shirt and contrasted with the glam of the snake print trousers. Wonderfully eclectic.

Simply stunning Suede jeans, slim through the leg and cropped in length but it’s that gorgeous blue colour that I really love. Styled with a statement belt, snake skin with beautiful colours. The sweatshirt / knitted jumper has a digital print on the front panel styled with the tuck in.

The glam continues and so does the Suede. Beautiful red colouring, epaulettes on the shoulders and then the button detail down the front. The jeans have had a pattern and the statue motif printed into it with bleach. The open neck shirt in the matching red is complimented with a matching red scarf.

The red Suede jacket of before is lovely but the jeans are just awesome. The sweatshirt carries the statues head motif that’s used throughout this collection, the proportion oversized on the print. The detail that I really like is the colour blocking used on the rib, especially that green, just gorgeous.

Trussardi SS17 – A glamorous and sophisticated collection, very much filled with luxury and attitude. The styling of the outfits are very eclectic especially the sportluxe theme mixed with tailored suit fabric. And then the suits made out of denim, the jeans made from Suede and also leather. The colours are bold and vivid, the prints have a motif that’s the face of a statue and is used throughout this collection. Snake skin is another print that gets a good showing. I have to mention the use of the scarf as it’s a style that I use in my own wardrobe and it’s an accessory that works so well in this collection. If you want Rock’n’Roll, if you want to be a star, if you want to be the centre of attention then this is the collection for you.

Tod’s – SS17

Really interesting worn look to this leather jacket, it’s got a touch of acid wash about it. The dark patches to the pockets and the rib look beautiful. Time on time trousers and then to finish the same worn look to those loafers. Classic colouring of taupe matched with sky blue.

Just the most beautiful soft suede biker jacket. I love the big lapels, the epaulettes and the self fabric pullers on those zips. Single pleat trousers are beautifully cut, again classic colouring with the stone shades and that crisp white shirt.

Lovely relaxed styling with this four button double breasted suit. Those lapels with the extra large sizing look very cool and work well this the relaxed nature of this outfit. The knitted tee has a wonderful texture to it. Not the styling with the jacket worn just on the shoulders.

Leather is cool, but suede is just so much more sophisticated. Another beautiful biker style jacket, love the peaked flaps on those pockets. Grandfather collar shirt, love the contrasted white buttons. Lovely earthy tones.

More of the tonal colouring which works so well in this collection. A beautiful six button double breasted blazer in denim. The tailoring on this blazer is just that little bit sharper then the ones before, those square edges work well for the fabric. Lovely dark buttons that become a feature. Very cool.

The shirt jacket, this version with the four pockets has a touch of the utility about it. Note the flaps and the slant cut to them, also the pockets themselves with the box pleats, lovely. The buttons have been replaced by the press stud.

The leather blazer, I love leather blazers. This version with its relaxed cut is gorgeous and that chocolate colour is stunning. Simple easy sweatshirt, classic stone colouring and note the styling with the sleeves showing over the leather blazer and pulled up to the elbow.

The double jacket look of this season continues. The inner jacket seems to be a anorak of sorts. The outer just a classic overcoat. Contrasted with the white is such a classic nautical look.

Tod’s SS17 – Beautiful clean lines, relaxed tailoring done so well. Simple shapes with wonderful fabrics and a beautiful colour palette. It’s hard not to want everything in this collection it’s very well made and beautifully styled. The blazers have those large lapels which give them that 70’s edge. I love, love, love the suede especially the biker jacket just stunning. What I noticed is the lack of black in the collection which is a breath of fresh air. I love those earthy tones, exploring colour should never be shied away from. All in all a beautiful collection.

Salvatore Ferragamo – SS17

A beautifully cut suit, very sharpe tailoring yet done with a relaxed styling. I like the patch pockets with those peaked flaps such a lovely detail. The trousers slim and then the styling of the double wrapped belt adds that edge. Simple vertical stripped tee, note the binding on the neck and the way the stripe changes direction. The stone colour of the suit fantastic and works so well with the khaki stripe.

Summer knitwear, done so well. The deep V neck in that wider rib looks lovely. The relaxed dropped shoulder gives a great shape as the fabric has wonderful drape quality to it. The trousers have a touch of the utility about them, wonderfully tailored with the wider leg and then that pocket that sits on the waist, very cool.

The Safari suit, a very well put together outfit. The utility look coming through stronger on this one. The suit itself has the classic four patch pockets again the peaks on the flaps are a lonely touch as is the belt around the waist. The shirt and tie lift it as both are printed and then to finish it off we have that rucksack. I love this look.

The grandad collar shirt, a trend that’s showing well this season. The deep placket is a love;y detail as is the loop fastening for the top button. Not the turned up sleeves for styling. The trousers are very well tailored and have that carrot cut shape to them, again great use of the double belt.

Simply gorgeous deep V neck jumper, just look at those large collars and how they sit so back and across the shoulders such a wonderful shape. The deep V is perfect to show off that matching patterned shirt and tie combo. The colouring is perfect, that wonderful deep blue complimented with the khaki. I love this outfit.

Such a lovely reworking of the jumpsuit. Stunning tailoring and cut, take note of that fly front that shorts at the collars, wonderful detail. Again the use of the doulble belt and matched with that awesome leather biker jacket. Styled with the sleeves pulled up. The khaki is such a fantastic colour, this is a jacket that I really want, I love it.

The simplicity of an outfit like this makes it so special. The deep V which is a theme in this collection is just that bit wider around the neck and the badge detail is a lovely touch. Utility pants done in that wonderful silver grey fabric, tailoring meets the outdoorsman.

A favourite in my own wardrobe, the shirt jacket, sloughs this one has been styled with the tuck in, a styling theme used throughout all the shows this season. A wonderful conversational print, love the patch pocket.

Classic Harrington jacket shape. I love the clean lines, the embroidery is a nice move along from the badges we have been seeing over the last few seasons. Note the double puller zipper on the jacket. A wonderful colour combo of that stone contrasted with the deep navy blue.

The Navy single breasted suit a staple in any mans wardrobe. The navy colour of this suit has a wonderful true colour about it, some Navy suits are so dark that they almost look Black which defeats the object of wearing Navy. Note the peaked pocket flaps a beautiful detail. Simple khaki vest underneath and a reworking of the neckachief with the scarf worn untied and draped around the neck, very cool.

Up to this point the whole collection has been tailored but this outfit moves in slightly more casual vain. This longline knitted vest is beautiful, the khaki stripe base is very cool and then those flashes of colour placed randomly across the rest of the vest. Love it.

For me the standout knitted piece of this collection. Ultra deep V and done so well with that contrast stripe rib. I love the use of the different shades of colour that make up,this outfit. The trousers have a touch of the sportsluxe as the are made up in jersey, styled with the legs pulled up,to the knee. A fantastic outfit.

I really love the shape of these jersey trousers, the slim line and you can tell that the fabric has a wonderful weight to it just by how it holds itself to the models legs, really fantastic. The navy contrasted with that beautiful yellow, a wonderful utility jacket with lots of pockets and straps, oversized in fit just adds to the overall balance to the outfit.

I had to add another Navy single breasted suit, it’s a personal favourite of mine.  And I Leo love the styling, with a simple navy tee shirt underneath and I also love the sleeves being pulled up. A gorgeous look.

Salvatore Ferragamo SS17 – As you may of expected Italian tailoring done to perfection. I have to say the cut of each tailored outfit has been excellently done, the shapes, the way the fabric drapes just look stunning and the easy of it actually betrays how good you have to be to get these things right, it’s a real art. The styling is wonderful, I love the double belts, the rolled up sleeves and the scarf around the neck of that suit. A very simple colour palette with a base of Navy, love the tones of khaki, a bright yellow, stones and silver greys. This simply is beautiful collection and worth your time and effort to look through.
