Massimo Piombo -SS17

The Kurta style Indian shirt with a classic grandad collar in that wonderful turmeric orange is gorgeous. I would have loved to have seen more of that embroidered waistcoat again a renal classic look in Indian style. The navy blue is a simple and easy choice to match to compliment this outfit.

Another Kurta style shirt and waistcoat but this time with the full trouser in the most vibrant turquoise blue. This time paired with a classic double breasted blazer, styled with the buttons undone as to not lose out on the embroidery on the waistcoat.

The Kurta shirt this time done using a very rustic cotton in that bold candy stripe. Again the embroidery is delicate and well placed, it doesn’t unbalance the outfit. The double breasted tuxedo blazer gives a contrast to the relaxed nature of this outfit because of the satin collars and sharpe cut. Which if you think about it is the same with wearing jeans with a blazer, in essence it’s the same concept.

By far my favourite Kurta shirt as I like the denim chambray fabric and the stripes on the blazer match it well. Again the embroidery is finely balanced as with all in this collection.

The shirts are now cut down to the standard length and nothing is really lost in the impact of the outfit. The stripe on this shirt is lovely, simple and clean. The embroidery frames the placket of the shirt well. I also like the styling with the cuff of the shirt protruding out from the sleeves-for the jacket.

Really wonderful colouring to this outfit. I love that candy stripe on the blazer and then that earthy red that so deep and rich. The star being that waistcoat which is shamefully hidden away but then that only builds intrigue. Gorgeous outfit.

Massimo Piombo SS17 – There is no denying the Indian influence of this collection, not only in the design of the outfits and embroidery but also with the colours that are so rich and vibrant. In the earthy tones have a deepness about them. This is a wonderful collection that is young and has a sort of next generation feel about it the classic tailoring and cut has this old world feel to it. A very beautiful collection and worth spending your time over.

Emporio Armani – SS17

The finger print and if you have an iPhone you already know that your finger print  has now become the key to open its little tiles for you play with. So why not celebrate its beauty. This is a lovely tee, it’s a great print and I’d like to think it’s the finger print of Mr Armani himself. I liked the grandad collar style as well almost makes the tee formal. Lovely relaxed tailoring as you’d might expect from Armani with the suit itself. The fabric has a wonderful texture that almost makes it look like paper.

The denim jeans and blazer look is now a stable in all mens wardrobe so why not add a little something else into the mix. It’s not the first collection to show embroidery on its denim this season but this version is more subtle then the rest with it’s tone on tone colouring. The navy follows through to the rest of the outfit with that wonderful textured blazer and the deep navy in  what seems to be a baseball shirt (it’s a shame we can’t see more of it).

I love the cut of this four button double breasted jacket. The shawl collars which are wonderfully narrow look fantastic. The shiny two tone effect of the fabric is sharpe;y contrasted with the matte navy cotton of the trousers also the cut of the trouser is wide and straight. Again the navy on navy works well together.

Sports luxe is another growth area in Menswear and the use of none traditional fabrics push the boundaries further. This lightweight dark chambray denim works particularly well in this hoodie and matching bottoms. Note the fly front on the hoodie and the drawstring on the trousers. The overcoat in that dark dark midnight blue is a wonderfully addition to this whole look and styled in a way to give the appearance of a cape, a must have item for any superhero outfit.

I’ve ways loved denim blazers and actually they are difficult to find. This is is beautiful especially with those dark blue collars. The trousers are wide around the waist and hips, the deep single pleat then help to taper down the leg to the ankle. The shirt has a rugged quality about it with that big zip going straight down the front of it. I especially like those collars I the contrast colour.

A wonderful combination of leather and suede, again not usually shown together on the same garment but contrasting textures seems to be a theme in this collection. The jacket itself like the ones before have a fly front to hide all the press stud fastening and the collars are neat and narrow. The trousers are elasticated at the hem which brings them inline with the sports luxe influence.

The shirt jacket usually designed and influence from a military stand. This lightweight version is a little bit different with its high collars and again the fly front to hide the zip. The trousers have a lovely detail of a printed turn up. The leather jacket is beautiful I love the raw edges and the zip detail.

More sports luxe the hoodie in a textured printed fabric, wonderful colouring. The trousers are cut narrow and I like the drawstring detail.

Wonderful graphics used on the tee shirt and also the same print used on the jacket. I love the bright red cardigan. The trousers are in line with the rest of the collection with the drawstring tie.

Amazing knitted blazer, my favourite item from the whole collection. I really love those collars or rather lack of. The shirt is lovely with those narrow collars and the trouser work really well with this whole look.

The knitted tee which there should be more of in the high street, I’m a huge fan. The pattern is just right for such a style. Those oversized trousers with the fly front detail are a great contrast in shape.

The bomber jacket as shown in all the collections this one has been done with a fantastic print, using gorgeous colours. Such a fantastic statement piece.

A fantastic version of a sleeveless shirt and I especially love the fastening to one side and the high collars such a wonderful look.

Emporio Armani SS17 – A wonderful collection of relaxed, luxury and soft tailoring. The sport luxe influence shown well throughout. I love the knitwear, the textures and the colours. The jackets have a simplicity about them, the fabrics used don’t need the garment to be over designed. The denim is lightweight but has a rich dark colour and that whole tonal navy is beautiful. If you are looking for the very best in luxury then this is a great collection to chose from.

Dsquared2 – SS17

The knitted tank top – A classic, done with a real sense of attitude as you would expect from Ds2. Gorgeous deep red colour simply cut and then styled with those amazing chains around the neck and two sequin tapers imitating braces that hang slightly loosely down the front. The trousers are cut narrow and crop, they have huge turn ups added at the hem. The crease down the front of the trousers look like they maybe a pintuck to give them definition.

Who can resist such a fantastic denim jacket, I LOVE patches and the current trend seems set to continue. Some people say less is more but I say less is just less and with an outfit like this you need all those patches. This is what I need in my wardrobe. I love it….

A shirt jacket if you will but done slightly differently with a zip front. I like the mix of leather and khaki cotton, love the Safari type pockets and the red stripe just adds that edge to the whole look. Note the white stripe around the collar and also the waistband just adds another highlight.

Glam punk. I think we’ve established that real man do wear pink and that shirt with the button down collars is a classic and I love the styling of the sleeves rolled high up on the arm. The jeans are amazing, lots of different techniques used within the one item but nothing overpowers anything else. Now if real men can wear pink can real men wear sparkly high heeled boots?… Discuss…

These splattered bleach Jean are amazing, really loving this style, we have to see these being done on the high street. Simple check shirt, cut narrow and the short sleeves cut high on the biceps. A really well worked outfit.

A real mod style military jacket. Of course loving the patches the fly button front is a lovely detail. I like the textured knit worn underneath and that stone/pink colour works really well with the khaki. Those amazing ripped and bleached jeans again.

The waffle texture in this cardigan is lovely and the same stove/pink colouring this is a real star item and one that would fit into my wardrobe well. Note the styling with the last 2 buttons on the cardigan undone, I really think that when worn casually you should never close those last buttons. Another pair of those bleach blotched jeans.

I cross breed – the leather biker jacket mixed with a bomber. Loving this style, the red tape used to add highlights to the jacket, great zip detail, finished off with those bomber jacket sleeves. Matched with those fantastic jeans as before.

More of the cross breeding with this blazer mixed with a classic denim jacket. I really like the detailing with the fastening and how the denim is used only on that panel, across the shoulders and collars. More of the red and white panels as highlights. The jacket then turns into a classic tailored blazer but then the arms are leather.

Just give me more and more of that glam style. A proper sequin tuxedo blazer, satin collars no less. Lovely purple knit with that shiny thread. The jeans silver, metallic, shiny and gorgeous. This is a stunning outfit and full of modern glamour.

Well they have done the bleach blotched jeans so the matching jacket he to be here somewhere. What I really like about this whole effect is that neither the Blue nor the White over power each other which could easily happen. The biker pants also have a touch of military about them, that khaki mixed with the leather works so well and the red to really bring the whole look together.

I love camouflage, it’s something I buy every season and is now a real classic print in menswear. This bomber jacket is really cool. The camouflage itself has been scaled smaller then usual which allows a more even distribution of the colours. Really interning colour pallette for that matter, a light khaki, a sandy brown, a burnt orange and then that amazing burgundy. Well thought out look.

Another classic bomber jacket but this time a floral print. Again great colouring, more khaki as a base and such a great flower print. The ribs are cool in that marl grey. Love this jacket.

I picked this because of the styling used. I’m a fan of wearing two jackets and I always start off with a denim jacket as the base. This is something you really need to try and experiment with. Note the 2nd jacket worn just on the shoulders, exudes style.

Wow, an amazing re-work of the classic single button Navy blazer. Ok the button has been replaced with a zip, and I like the vertical zip next to those lapels. Fishnet which has had somewhat of a revival this years seems to be moving into the new season. The jeans are as before the addition is that kilt that is worn untied and just floats around the thighs. Gorgeous look.

Can I start off with that Klit, done so well in that bleach bloat denim, just look at those pleats, fantastic. The Klit itself is then attached by a zip to the jacket that’s worn underneath. I like the whole look of a long line jacket worn underneath with a shirt jacket on top. It’s worth experimenting with, great style. The outer jacket itself is a re-worked baseball jacket with fantastic leather sleeves, wonderful zip detail.

DSquared2 SS17 – Glam, glam, glam mixed with a little punk, a little mod, a little military and a little biker chic. This is a gorgeous collection. The denim is well worked with lots of great technique. The jackets have been cross bred with other styles with a mix of fabrics. All are well worked and coherent. The styling is feminine in its approach but masculine in its execution which is why it’s so glamorous. I love this collection, we must see those ripped and bleached denim on the high street as well as the use of more patches. The high street should also consider using different fabrics on the same jacket even if it’s just a leather sleeve.  Also take inspiration from the textured knits. Beautiful work from the brothers D.

Dondup- SS17

The baseball jacket – lovely example of this style I really like the little touches such as the contrast colour slits to the pockets and also the stripe of green down the centre of the sleeves. The colouring is beautiful such a great shade of green mixed with that stone on the ribs the jacket works perfectly. The shade on shade with the jeans and top is balanced well.

The shirt jacket – I love a good shirt jacket I’ve had many in my wardrobe and the colour I always seem to go for? Simple Khaki – the is a lovely version of the shirt jacket, I love the patch pockets with flaps and my favourite detail the epaulettes. The styling is interesting as the sleeves have been rolled up allowing the sleeves of that fantastic stripe jumper to be seen. Worn with simple black jeans.

Another shirt jacket this time with a little more attitude. The khaki is such more military then the softer version before. The buttons are a real feature. The classic rip jeans are just the right wash for this look. The styling is just right for this season as the shirt jacket has been tucked in and we’ve seen that look in many of this seasons show.

There are many people who believe that double denim should only be dark denim but I don’t believe that to be true at all. This light wash is lovely. The jacket is particularly well styled with the grandad collar and the added touch of wool.

Double denim done with a selvage denim, loving that dark denim and the turn up always finishes of any selvage jeans. This version of the western jacket has been reworked, the single pocket is very angular and the classic double stitch detail is fantastic. Also note the small narrow collars.

I love my knitwear as you know and this textured knit is lovely. The jeans with the worn areas and that wash is fantastic with the bright red. It’s the use of the tuck in that is really something to consider in the the new season, I don’t think it will work with every outfit but it’s something to play around with.

A wonderful lightweight denim suit, now this is something I would want in my own wardrobe. Two button single breasted blazer, lovely soft tailoring with that slouched shoulder, not too narrow around the waist and great patch pockets. The bottoms again styled soft and easy. Loving the turn ups.

Dondup SS17 – the is a wonderful softness in the tailoring and shape throughout this collection, very simple but well styled outfits. Beautiful palette of colours. I really like the tucked in styles, the shirt jackets and the denim suit is to die for. This is a collection that could be easily over looked yet is actually a real standout show.

Bottega Veneta -SS17

Let’s start off with that amazing leather jacket, beautiful soft leather and such a stunning colour a rich dark taupe. Note the zips are plastic and the teeth and tape are matched in the same colour. I’m a huge fan of patterned shirts and this one would sit nicely in my wardrobe. The trousers are cut wide but straight, low waisted with a single pleat and a large turn up at the hem completes the look.

Now this is a suede jacket that exudes style, very 70’s in influence as well with those multi coloured leather patch pockets. Also the leather trim around the pocket is fantastic, the lapels look good as well with the leather panel. Utility bottoms are wide and baggy, great big patch pockets on the front only add to the look.

Colour blocking doesn’t always have to done in big bright colours and this is a great example of working with some amazing colours. The brown suede is contrasted well with that grey / green slate colour. The ribs on the jacket have that wonder stripe of purple, grey and wine running through it which sets off the jacket well. I love the press stud fastening. The bottoms follow with the utility look in both colour and fabric, the contrast colour turn ups are a lovely touch.

A four button double breasted suit, the cut itself is sharpe but the styling is relaxed and slouched which really works well. The fabric steals the show shiny and almost iridescent.

The first thing that catches my eye on this jacket are those amazing big ribs on the hem and cuff, I love little detailing like that, just changing the width changes the whole look. The colours are fantastic with that geometric pattern. Simple black skirt worn underneath. The khaki trousers are as before with the wide straight leg and the extra large turn up.

Camo, is stable in menswear whether your using the traditional pattern or like here the colours of a camouflage this one being a dessert camouflage. I just love the bottoms, big wide pockets, baggy styling and Luke the use of that slim utility belt really cool. Summer knits are a must and the simple stripes on this work really well with that rib knit. The wide neck seems to be showing an many SS17 shows and looks fantastic.

These bottoms very much styled like a wader with the extended fabric on the waist they also remind me of the paperbag skirts being sold right now on the high street with the self fabric tied belt. Big and baggy like the rest of the trousers in this collection. I like the lightweight sweatshirt with the leather patch details and also the pattern short with the extra wide collars. Loving this look.

This jacket has a lovely femininity about it which is perfectly styled and of the moment. The coloured edges are fantastic. Lovely ribbed knitwear with the simple block colours, just fantastic. The trousers are just as before.

This is for me a real standout piece in this collection, the knitted button through cardi. The styling is very much the 70’s,the mix of knitwear and leather is fantastic. The finishing touches like the ribs and those big buttons really adds so the whole look of this outfit. The bottoms are in the same technical grey fabric as before.

The western jacket – brilliant version here in suede, especially note the shape of the pockets which are also without the traditional flaps. These earthy tones are really working well and are creating a wonderful palette for SS17.

The single colour – stone on stone on stone, why contrast when you can match? I love this double breasted four button suit. Like before the cut is sharpe and the styling is really relaxed. Perfectly matched with that simple knitted jumper underneath really beautiful.

You know what I’m gonna talking about – yes it’s those ribs but it’s those little details that can really take an item to that next level. I absolutely love this jacket, the pockets are great. Fantastic trousers and great colouring.

Salmon pink – one of the colours of SS17 – this version is slightly darker then what we have seen but that does t make any less beautiful. Again single colour styling, I’ve already purchased a couple items in this shade for my wardrobe as I take my time to build the right outfit.

Bottega Veneta – for me we can talk about the leather and the suede but what I really love throughout this collection is the colour. Those wonderful earthy tones are a breath of fresh air, the taupe, khaki, stone and that gorgeous salmon pink. The styling is very much influenced from the 70’s and especially the knitwear with the added leather detail and patches simply gorgeous. The utility bottoms are perfectly styled, baggy and great big patch pockets. The paperbag trouser with the self fabric tie is a real star. Wonderful collection.

Bally – SS17

Wow… Just Wow… Simply stunning suit, beautifully cut two button single breasted, lovely big lapels, love the length of those sleeves and the shirt cuff showing – the trousers low waisted and flat fronted the straight leg going into a slight flare – wonderful colouring with the vivid red and the aqua blue shirt with the little people print incredibly stylish

The baseball jacket – Another of this seasons must haves and this is a fantastic version – note the contrast piping down the centre of the sleeves and I love those matching ribs – the velvet trousers have that wonderful pin tuck detail for that stay in crease look, flat fronted and crop in length and a simple straight leg cut adds to the simplicity of this outfit – the rib turtle neck top is styled tucked into the trouser another of this seasons style cues – the whole outfit is held together with a imaginative use of colour which aren’t traditionally matched but they do work together well.

The bomber jacket – Hot on the tails of the baseball jacket comes the bomber – unlike the usual one colour MA-1 Bombers this one has been done is a wonderful colour block of deep red, orange and a flash of fuchsia – note the contrast colour pocket on the sleeve – doubled up on the knitwear with the same rib turtle neck top worn underneath that textured high button cardigan also the same velvet pintuck trousers – wonderful colouring, a real mix of brights and contrasts.

This two button single breasted blazer is wonderfully cut, very sharpe, I like the 90 degree cut of the front hem the flaps on the pockets – note the darts on the front to bring in the waist, wide but sharpe lapels – the sportslux influence is evident with those bottoms – simple stripe panels down the side and an elasticated hem – the knitwear wouldn’t actually look out of place at Christmas but I love it – colours are matched and mixed and contrasted

The biker jacket – colour blocking has really become a big part of Menswear styling but it’s yet to make a big impact on the high street Menswear stores which is a real shame as it’s such a fantastic look – this biker jacket is a case in point – simple traditional styling but taken to the next level with the use of colour – something I would love to add to my own wardrobe – the jeans are low waisted and with a straight leg and the colour is contrasted well to that jacket – the blotched bleached effect is beautiful and makes for an interesting pattern – I love the turn ups to give the jeans that cropped styling

The Kimono – I love this look, the Kimono has the most wonderful print which has been taken to the next level just by making it a colour block – the colours chosen for the main body and trim are complimented well and the contrast of the red belt completes the outfit – the ruffle shirt is a style that has featured in a few of this seasons show and this is a wonderful example with the black to highlight the front and the cuffs – those trouser in this seasons Aqua colouring are wonderfully wide, patch pockets and the featured detail of the button fly really add to the overall look to this outfit

More of that sharpe tailoring – the patterned suit, single breasted blazer and those low waisted, flat front trousers – the cut is narrow and the whole style has a edge of Rock’n’Roll to it – instead of a traditional shirt the outfit has been styled with a knitted polo shirt in navy which is a perfect combination to go with the wine coloured pattern suit

Another gorgeous jacket to add to the others I this collection – beautiful deep jade colouring and not the cuffs turned up to allow even more of the sleeve of that wonderful V neck sweater to show through – the deep V looks wonderful on the knit – simple patterned shirt and those velvet pintuck trousers again

I’ve said it once but I have to say it again just Wow…. Stunning suit – this time slightly softer tailoring, the edge of the hem of that blazer is rounded the flaps on the pockets have been keep and so have the darts on the waist – the trousers are low waisted as before and have the great pintuck detail down the front – narrow cut to the leg and crop length – the contrasted stripe jumper is must have on its own – that salmon pink with the flecs of red slub I the fabric is beautiful

Let’s get back to that sportslux look – all done this time in a soft leather – the stripe seems to be a continuing theme into the Spring and Summer – note the drawstring to the waist and also the pintuck to the trousers – the neck rib follows on with the stripe and that brings the outfit together – more of that fantastic salmon pink which I just can’t get enough of – the styling has of course the jumper tucked into the waist of the trouser

Another beautifully tailored suit and using another colour of the same flec fabric as the salmon suit – this time a simple one button single breasted blazer – narrow lapels and rounded edges to the hem – lovely narrow trousers – dare I say it, more of that pick for the shirt which is a perfectly compliment to the grey suit – styled with that overcoat worn tied around the waist like a boy coming home after school – we all used to do it…..

Summer knitwear has always featured in my wardrobe – I’ve always loved florals as well so this is a great combination – those flowers contrasted with that oatmeal colour looks lovely and that deep V neck is a great style – the green and turquoise patterned shirt has the same colouring as the Kimono – the bottoms are the same as before just a black version

Chocolate… Who doesn’t like chocolate? Six button double breasted suit, the cut is narrow and held close to the body with large patch pockets with flap detail – the hem is cut sharpe and squared and the feature being those lovely cream contrasted buttons. The trouser are like the other suits flat fronted and cut straight in the leg going into a slight flare.

The western jacket – such a wonderful combination of a western jacket and trouser set – I love the contrast stitching and those wonderful big buttons – the colour is a lovely warm oatmeal which is sharpely contrasted with that Fuchsia turtle neck jumper – fantastic patterned shirt – note that the shirt is unbuttoned and the cuffs on the jacket are turned up for styling

If at any point it was ever in doubt that this collection draws a infleuntail thread from the 60’s, hippies and flower power then these jeans should put that thought to bed – the floral embroidery on tense jeans are beautiful and the placement has been well thought out as it doesn’t overpower the whole look – wonderful patterned shirt worm with those cuffs turned up at the end – more of that fuchsia in that fantastic rib jumper

Starting at the bottoms first the velvet joggers look fantastic and note that the joggers have been cut in panels which creates texture this is also the case for the pintuck detail down the front of the joggers too – chocolate and orange which is always a  favourite culinary combination has been used to great effect on the jumper and that fuchsia stripe that runs along side is wonderful – that gorgeous statement jacket is stunning – loving the colours and those big black buttons

Bally SS17 – This is easily one of the standout collections from n this season. The tailoring is wonderfully sharpe and beautifully cut yet the shapes are simple and traditional. The influence of the 60’s comes into play with the use of colour and what amazing colours…. Orange, Fuchsia, Jade Green, Bright Red, Yellow and then you move onto those earthy tones of Navy, Brown, Oatmeal and Stone… Unconventional combinations but nothing at all looks out of place in fact it’s inspiring and there are combination I will be trying with my own wardrobe and look. Take time to look at this collection, find those pieces like the colour block leather biker or the Kimono… You don’t want to miss out in some amazing designs….

Visvim – SS17

Visvim – SS17
A wonderful soft tailored collection. Fantastic jackets, gorgeous kimono style in great fabrics and even a leopard print. The jeans are simple in there cut and dye, turn ups always add to the style when worn. Loving the soft drape wide trousers with a simple sweatshirt. The graphics used in the shirts and sweatshirts don’t overpower the outfits they are just simple – The whole styling reminded me of Mexican peasants in those great spaghetti westerns of the 60’s. The colours used are beautiful for that salmon pink is the standout colour and something I will be adding to my wardrobe.

Raf Simons – SS17

Raf Simons – SS17
A very interesting collection. Really easy and simple styling, the portions were oversized even when the lengths were cropped. That huge oversized boat neck knit was my absolute favourite and I hope to see something similar on the high street. The colours used as the base were classic black, white, cream khaki and then for contrast the cobalt blue, red and even that lovely slate grey works really well. This is a collection I know I will go back to because I will see something new each time.

Fausto Puglisi – SS17

Fausto Puglisi – SS17
Embellishments, patches, badges, leather, denim, florals, gladiators – some elements anyone would describe as feminine in nature yet without doubt this collection is masculine – just look at the models used and their stance as they wear these outfits – these are warriors, they wear bright colours, florals and add little gold trinkets to their clothes to make sure everyone sees them – a wonderfully put together collection and one full of interesting ideas and design. I love adding patches and badges to my own outfits – I love the big bold prints and the use of colour. Please check out the full collection you will not be disappointed – truly wonderful work.

Gosha Rubchinskiy – SS17

Gosha Rubchinskiy – SS17
Sportswear chic with some great old school brands Fila, Sergio Tacchini, Kappa – brands that were the stable of Eighties body poppers and breakdancers. Loving the oversize styling, dolman sleeves and bold stripes. Interesting looks which done well will translate well onto the high street.
